Mrs. Rebecca Roberts

  • Mrs. Roberts received her BA from the University of Maine in Orono, and her Masters in teaching from Harvard University. She teaches Latin II and III and Grammar Fundamentals here at the high school and she has her plate full with community activities. She enjoys music and is a member of the Alumni Community Band as well as being both organist and choir director for the Boothbay Baptist Church. She also plays golf, does aerobics and chaperoned a school trip to Italy.
  • In addition to the Roman banquet Mrs. Roberts brought her Latin II class to visit a St. Joseph's Latin I class. Outside of school, Mrs. Roberts attends Maine Classical League Conventions and Workshops, and Junior Classical League Certamen and Conventions.



  • Mr. Taras Schkrioba

  • Herr Schkrioba earned his B.A. in History and German from Stetson University in Deland, Florida. He is continuing his education with the University of Maine.
  • Originally from Windham, ME, he now lives in Gray with his wife and son. He has taught at Biddeford High School, Windham High School, Raymond Elementary School, and Massabesic High School.
  • In his spare time Herr Schkrioba enjoys coaching basketball, hunting, fishing, mountain biking and working in the Garden. He has traveled to study in Germany at the Padagogische Hochschule, in Freiburg. He visits his family in Germany once a year and has also visited Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
  • Herr Schkrioba teaches a team course on Recent History and Literature with Mr. Cherry, a course on the Holocaust and Human Rights, German levels 1-4 and volunteers to prepare students for the AP exam in German 4. Herr Schkrioba is also currently working with supervision from Frau Ragnhilde Baade as part of the GAPP program in coordinating an exchange program and immersion program.



  • Senora Karol Clark

    B.A. (Elizabethtown College, PA and University of Barcelona, Spain)

  • Mrs. Clark got her B.A. in modern languages from Elizabethtown College, Pennsylvania and University of Barcelona, Spain. She is also continuing education at University of Maine.
  • From Oxford, Maine she now resides in Newcastle, Maine. She has taught at Lincoln Academy, Chewonki Foundation, Boothbay Region Elementary School and B.R.H.S.
  • She likes reading, watching movies, waking and swimming. She has traveled throughout Europe, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and North Africa. Mrs. Clark currently teaches Spanish I, II, III, IV as well as Spanish V or AP depending upon demand.



  • Madame Nathalie Gorey

  • Mrs. Gorey was born and grew up in French-speaking Africa, in Cote d'Ivoire, until the age of 11, when her family returned to their native France. Mrs. Gorey studied at the University of Angers, in the Loire region, and received her Master's degree in French Linguistics and Applied Languages (English, German and Russian) in 1990.
  • While she spent the last year of her studies at the University of Limerick, in Ireland, she had the opportunity to teach French as a Foreign Language at the Alliance Francaise. Upon her graduation, Mrs. Gorey was invited to travel to Maine to start the French program at the University of Maine at Machias where she taught several levels of French during five years.
  • Since she and her family moved to the region, she has been teaching French part-time at Lincoln Academy for the past 11 years while continuing to teach at the college level, at the University of Maine at Augusta, during seven years. She is very excited to teach French at BRHS and build the French program again!
  • Her international travels have also taken her to Spain, Morocco, Italy, England, Belgium, Germany.
  • Mrs. Goery lives in Edgecomb with her husband, their two sons and two cats. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching foreign movies, cooking and traveling.
