Eileen King

  • Eileen King grew up in South America, graduating from the Uruguayan American Liceo in 1975. Her family became summer residents of Boothbay Harbor in 1970.

  • Eileen attended Gettysburg College, where she majored in Spanish and Education and minored in Sports Medicine. She was awarded her M. Ed in School Administration from East Stroudsburg University in 1985 and completed her Certificate of Advanced Graduate studies from UMaine in Middle Level Education in 1990.

  • Eileen taught Spanish in Hackettstown, New Jersey and Maranacook Community School in Maine. She served as the Assistant Principal and Principal of Skowhegan Area Middle School prior to becoming the Principal at Boothbay Region Elementary School in 1993. In 2000, Eileen was named Maine's National Distinguished Principal. In July of 2002, Eileen became the Superintendent of Schools of the Boothbay Region Community School District and School Union # 49 which serves the communities of Edgecomb and Southport. Eileen enjoys cooking, gardening, skiing, golf and adores her 3 grandchildren.





    John "Jack" Tourtillotte

  • Mr. Tourtillotte, our Principal since 1992, grew up in the Boothbay Region and graduated in 1965. He attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and graduated in 1969. He also attended UMO where he earned his Masters Degree in Administration in 1981.
  • His school career started at Joseph A. Leonard, Old Town Maine, where he taught at the middle school for 8 years. He also taught Social Studies for 8 years at the Old Town High School. For 4 years he taught at the Waterville High School as a Social Studies teacher, and was also the Junior High School's Vice Principal in Waterville for 4 years.





    Joel Austin

  • Mr Austin has served in a variety of roles in schools in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, beginning in 1971. Since moving to the Boothbay Region with his family in 1980, he has served as school psychologist, guidance counselor and administrator in the Boothbay Region Schools, as well as in Falmouth and Wiscasset. He and his wife, also a school counselor, reside with their daughter in Bath.





    Mary Patrick

    Curriculum Coordinator, B.A. (University of Maine, Orono) M.Ed (University of Southern Maine)

  • Ms. Patrick, our Curriculum Coordinator, has lived in Maine all her life. She went to high school at Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine. She then went on to college at the University of Maine where she received her B.A. degree. She also attended the University of Portland/Gorham where she received her M. ED degree in Curriculum emphasis.

  • Previous employment in which Ms. Patrick has been involved with consist of shortorder cooking, waitressing, assistant manager of a hotel, groundskeeping, and gardening. Other school related jobs consist of teaching English, being the Dean of Women, Assistant Principal, and Curriculum Work.

  • Some of her main interests include gardening, safety of animals in our modern world, various cultural and ethnic groups, music (especially rhythm and blues, dixieland, folk, and classical), reading, and walking.
